What
is Emerald Air?
Emerald Air is an AVSIM Partner
Virtual Airline for flight
simmers who use a recent version of MSFS and who really want to fly "as
real as it gets" in a challenging Virtual Airline environment. Members can download our aircraft and schedules from the Emerald Air
website then fly our scheduled flights and send in their Pilot Reports, like real pilots
do. Reported hours are logged and displayed on the Pilot Roster.
When an Emerald pilot gathers enough hours, he becomes eligible for
promotion to the next rank, and as he goes up the hierarchy, he'll
be allowed to fly heavier and faster aircraft, thus building a VA pilot
career.
Emerald
Air is operating continuously since 31 March
2001. Founded by former Air Ireland officials Aidan Rice and
Csaba Sághi as an Irish regional operator, Emerald Air has
by now developed into a significant VA of the British Isles. Emerald
Air Ireland flies
out of Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Belfast and Londonderry, while Emerald Air Great Britain flies out of London, Manchester,
Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cardiff. Our
flight
schedule contains a wide range of flights from short hops to the
Aran Islands off the West Coast of Ireland in a DHC6 Twin Otter
to long-haul intercontinental flights in our Boeing 747. Furthermore, our pilots can fly within or out of Greece with
our Greek partner airline.
