Rules and Regulations applying to Emerlad Air - Smile & Fly! Hellas Partner Flights

18th November 2003
Basic Principles

The Partnership Agreement between Emerald Air and Smile & Fly! allows EMD and SFV pilots to fly each other's aircraft and routes as if they were their own. These Partner Flights will be flown with the equipment, and following the rules, of the VA hosting the route. Pilot Reports must be sent to, and will be processed by, the pilot's mother VA.

Choice of Flights

Both EMD and SFV pilots are free to pick any flight from the partner airline's schedules, complete the flight and log the block time at their mother VA. Pilots flying under this agreement are free to use all the partner airline's Hubs. There are no Hub assignments or transfers in case of Partner Flights. Flights that require the use of equipment the pilot is not qualified to fly, however, are not allowed and will not be logged.

Choice of Equipment

Pilots flying under this agreement are required to use the equipment of the VA hosting the chosen route, provided the equipment used is the same or lower category then the heaviest aircraft the pilot is allowed to fly at his/her mother VA. In the case of code-share routes, such as between Athens and Dublin, or Athens and Manchester, the pilot may fly either the EMD aircraft, or the SFV aircraft, that is specified for this route. Since SFV currently has no aircraft that correspond to the EMD Light Jet category, EMD LJ pilots will only be allowed to log flights on SFV routes using that company's turboprop equipment.

» Turboprops: DHC6, DHC8, Saab340, ATR72
» Light Jets: CRJ200, RJ85/Bae146
» Medium Jets: B737 Classic, B737 NG
» Heavy Jets: B757, B777, B747, MD11

e.g.: an SFV pilot can fly any EMD aircraft as they have no rank restrictions.
e.g.: an EMD Light Jet Captain can fly an SFV Saab340 or ATR72 but cannot fly an SFV B737.

Online Flights

Emerald Air and Smile & Fly! are encouraging their pilots to fly online as much as possible. When flying each other's routes online we normally the pilot to use his own callsign from his own VA but to include in the flightplan comments the route he/she is flying.

» Smile & Fly! Hellas' text callsign is SFV, voice callsign is Smile
» Emerald Air's text callsign is EMD, voice callsign is Emerald

We wish you a happy flight,
